  5. Pour just enough hot water (~195F) into the French Press to cover the coffee grounds.  Let the coffee grounds to bloom for 30 seconds.
  6. 30 seconds later, pour more hot water (~195F) into the French Press BUT leave approximately 1" of space from the rim.
  7. Use a stir/spoon to slight stir the coffee to incorporate.
  8. Carefully, place the plunger unit on in the PULL position.
  9. Do not press.
  10. Set timer for 4 minutes.
  11. 4 minutes later, press the coffee slowly and carefully.
  12. Pour 95% of coffee into the warm coffee mug or into the paper cup/Jar//Thermos to enjoy.  Do not leave coffee inside the French Press because coffee will over brew and it is not a good taste.
Notes:
  • Pour about 95% of coffee out.  Discard the last 5% of coffee with tiny coffee ground residue out for better flavor and experience.
  • If coffee is too bitter, the coffee texture is probably too fine.
  • If coffee is too watery, the coffee texture is probably too coarse.
  • For my travel size French Press, it only fits approximately 11oz of water with bloomed grounds and I liked the coffee taste.
  • Golden Rule 16:1 (Water in ml : Grounds in g)
  • For 1 cup of standard coffee:  Water 270ml : Grounds 17g

Instruction for Travel Mode

The recommended ratio is way too weak for my liking.
